Meeting transcription that stays on your computer
Glimpse is an open-source desktop app for Mac and Windows that combines voice dictation, meeting recording, transcription, and speaker labels from NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Diarization. All of it runs on your own computer.
Two-week free trial. Dictation is free.
No bot in the call
Glimpse records the audio on your own computer, so nobody gets an invite from a notetaker and nothing is uploaded to transcribe it.
- Nothing joins the call
- Transcribed on your computer
- Open source, AGPL-3.0
From the call to the transcript
Record any call
Your microphone and your computer's audio, or only the apps you pick. Your side and the call stay on separate tracks, so your lines are always yours.
Start from the Record screen, the menu bar, Raycast, or glimpse record.
Every speaker, labeled
NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Diarization tells up to 8 voices apart, on your computer. Lines are labeled live while you record, then again over the whole recording when you stop.
Rename, merge or recolor speakers, or move a single line to someone else.
Read it back
Play it back with the transcript following along, jump to your bookmarks, and search every meeting you've recorded.
Export to text, Markdown, SRT or VTT. Files you already have can go in the Library too.
Works with every call app
If it plays sound on your computer, Glimpse can record it.
- Zoom
- Google Meet
- Microsoft Teams
- Slack huddles
- FaceTime
- Discord
Recording computer audio needs macOS 14.2 or later. Picking apps on Windows needs Windows 10 version 2004 or later.
And it's a dictation app
Most meeting tools only do meetings. Glimpse started as dictation, so the shortcut that types into Slack or your email works in the middle of a call too, and what you dictate stays out of the recording.
Meetings use the same local models you dictate with, Parakeet, Whisper, Nemotron Streaming or Qwen3-ASR, and your custom dictionary works in both.
Dictation is free and unlimited. Recording comes with a one-time license, and every install starts with a two-week free trial.
Common questions
Does Glimpse join my meetings as a bot?
No. Glimpse records the audio on your own computer, from your microphone and from the apps you choose, like Zoom, Teams or your browser. Nothing joins the call.
Does meeting audio leave my computer?
Not by default. Recording, transcription and speaker detection all run locally. If you choose a cloud speech provider with your own key, audio goes straight to that provider.
How does Glimpse tell speakers apart?
Your microphone and your computer's audio are recorded as separate tracks. Within each track, NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Diarization, running on your computer, tells up to 8 speakers apart. The live transcript uses it with about one second of lookahead, and the full pass after you stop uses 30 seconds.
Does it work with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams?
Yes. Glimpse records audio from any app, so it works with Zoom, Meet, Teams, Slack huddles, Discord, FaceTime, or anything else that plays sound. You can record your whole computer or only the apps you pick.
Does Glimpse write meeting summaries?
No. Glimpse gives you a full, speaker-labeled transcript with bookmarks. You can export it as Markdown and hand it to whichever AI tool you like.
What do I need to record meetings?
Recording your computer's audio needs macOS 14.2 or later. Picking individual apps on Windows needs Windows 10 version 2004 or later. Recording is included with every Glimpse license and the two-week free trial.
