A CLI and a local speech API

Any paid Glimpse license includes an optional glimpse command for the terminal and a local, OpenAI-compatible speech endpoint running on your own machine. You can wire dictation into your own scripts and tools instead of being stuck inside one app.

Local and open source

It runs offline by default and is open source under AGPL-3.0, so you can read exactly what it does with your audio. For Cleanup and Edit Mode you bring your own LLM key, with no markup.

Can Glimpse help me write code by voice?

It's best at the writing around code: commit messages, PR descriptions, comments, docs, and chat. It's a dictation tool, not a full voice-control system for editing code symbol by symbol like Talon.

Does Glimpse have a CLI?

Yes. Any paid Glimpse license, Personal or Commercial, includes an optional glimpse command for the terminal.

Is there a local API?

Yes. Any paid Glimpse license exposes a local, OpenAI-compatible speech endpoint that runs on your machine, so you can integrate dictation into your own tools.

Does my code or audio leave my machine?

No. Transcription is local by default. Only the optional AI features call out, and only to a provider you configure with your own key.
