Dictation built to stay on your team's computers
Glimpse turns speech into text on each Mac and PC. Your team's audio and words never reach our servers, because we don't have any that could receive them.
Privacy, built in.
Speech never leaves the computer
Glimpse runs the speech model on the Mac or PC itself. Audio goes from the microphone to the model and nowhere else, and dictation keeps working with no internet connection.
Nothing for us to hand over
There is no Glimpse account and no Glimpse server for audio, transcripts or prompts. History lives in a local database on each computer, and people can delete it at any time.
Cloud only when someone chooses it
Cloud speech and writing models stay off unless someone adds their own key, and then requests go straight from their computer to that provider.
Glimpse is open source under AGPL-3.0, so your security team can read the code and check every claim on this page.
Rolling it out
Install
On Windows, the MSI installs for everyone on the computer. Find it on each release.
msiexec /i Glimpse_x.y.z_x64_en-US.msi /qn
On Mac, deploy the DMG or use Homebrew. Glimpse needs macOS 14 or later.
brew install --cask glimpse-hq/tap/glimpse
Approve access
On Mac, Glimpse needs the microphone and Accessibility, which lets it type into other apps. Approve Accessibility ahead of time with a PPPC profile for com.glimpse.data. macOS asks each person to allow the microphone once. Windows needs no extra approval.

Network connections
Everything Glimpse connects to. None of these receive audio, transcripts or prompts. A cloud provider someone adds with their own key is contacted directly from their computer.
