Dictation stays free. A paid license pays for the extras and helps cover what it takes to keep shipping Glimpse.
Glimpse is open source, and local dictation will stay free. No word limits, no trial clock. The features below come with any paid license, whether you buy Personal for yourself or Commercial for work.
What a paid license unlocks
Included with Personal and Commercial. Free 2-week trial on install.
Library
Import audio or video, follow the synced transcript, assign speakers, and export TXT, Markdown, SRT, or VTT.
AI Cleanup
Polish dictated text with your own LLM provider after transcription.
Edit Mode
Select existing text, describe the change out loud, and rewrite it in place.
Personalization
Use different writing instructions for each app or website, with dynamic snippets for context.
Local API
Run an OpenAI-compatible speech endpoint on your own machine for apps and automations.
CLI
Install the optional glimpse command to transcribe files and use Glimpse from scripts.

If you contribute something real to Glimpse on GitHub, we may send you a Personal license for free. A bug fix, a useful feature, better docs, accessibility work. Not a typo in the readme.
