Glimpse vs Tactiq
Tactiq is a browser extension that writes live transcripts of Google Meet, Zoom and Teams calls, without a bot, and adds AI summaries. It doesn't record the audio. Glimpse is a desktop app that records any call on your computer, keeps the audio, and transcribes and labels speakers locally.

The short answer
Pick Tactiq if
- You only need transcripts of Google Meet, Zoom and Teams calls in the browser.
- You want AI summaries and follow-ups written right after the call.
- You'd rather not keep any audio at all.
- You want something free for a handful of meetings a month.
Pick Glimpse if
- You want to record any app, not only a browser tab: the Zoom or Teams desktop app, Slack huddles, Discord, or a conversation in the room.
- You want the audio, so you can play back and check what was really said.
- Transcription and speaker labels run on your computer, and it works offline.
- No monthly transcript count or subscription. Recording is part of a one-time license.
- Free, unlimited dictation in the same app, and the code is open source.

In detail
Any app, not only a browser tab
Tactiq lives in Chrome or Edge and works with Google Meet, Zoom and Teams. Glimpse is a desktop app, so it records whatever your computer plays: the Zoom and Teams desktop apps, Slack huddles, Discord, a webinar, or only the apps you pick. With just the microphone, it records a conversation in the room too. Neither one puts a bot in the call.
The audio, not only the words
Tactiq writes a transcript and doesn't keep the audio. Glimpse keeps both on your computer, your microphone and the call on separate tracks. Play back any line to check a quote, fix a word the model got wrong, or transcribe the meeting again later with a different model.
Speakers and transcription on your computer
Glimpse transcribes with local models like Parakeet and Whisper and labels up to 8 speakers with NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Diarization, all on your Mac or PC. Turn the wifi off and it still works. Tactiq adds AI summaries and follow-ups through OpenAI, which Glimpse doesn't do. Export the Markdown to the AI tool you like instead.
Transcripts a month vs. a one-time license
Tactiq's free plan covers 10 transcripts a month. Pro is $8 a user a month billed yearly, and Team is $16.67. Glimpse has no transcript count. Dictation is free, and recording comes with every license: $25 once for 1 device or $39 for up to 3, with a two-week free trial.
