Why is there paid stuff?
Dictation stays free. Personal pays for the extras and helps cover what it takes to keep shipping Glimpse.
Glimpse is open source, and local dictation will stay free. No word limits, no trial clock on the free tier.
Shipping a desktop app still costs money and time: Apple and Windows signing, keeping up with OS updates, fixing bugs, all of that. Personal is a one-time $12.99 for the features on top of dictation. If you only need dictation, you do not need to buy anything.

Discounts
We offer discounts for students and for people with disabilities. If $12.99 is still too much, it does not hurt to ask. Email hello@tryglimpse.cc and we will work something out.
Open source contributors
If you contribute something real to Glimpse on GitHub, we may send you a Personal license for free. A bug fix, a useful feature, better docs, accessibility work. Not a typo in the readme.
